a unique and surprising piece, one that I had no idea how it would turn out at the end. as an effort at “no waste” this rug uses the offcuts from many fleeces creating a range of wool colors like a painters palette. I could imagine this piece as a wall hanging, creating a visually appealing centerpiece for a living space.
the wool is minimally processed once it is sheared from the sheep so there may be small flecks of vegetable matter from the fields that feed them. it is the hope that these small reminders of the lives lived will bring greater appreciation for the ways they gift us.
